As the new academic year approaches, The UPLB Genetics Society (GeneSoc) continues to promote the science and significance of genetics within the University.

As part of CASalubong 2025, GeneSoc, together with other Institute of Biological Sciences (IBS) organizations, warmly welcomed the freshmen of Batch 2025 through their various and well-designed stalls on the halls of IBS Wing C. Packed with different games and activities, GeneSoc successfully introduced itself to the new Isko and Iska of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB)

On August 7, 2025, the first day of the event, GeneSoc was assigned to the College of Arts and Sciences Building for booth set-up. Moreover, resident members from GeneSoc were also invited as speakers on the program proper to discuss the must-knows about the university. This was formally led by the incumbent president of The UPLB Genetics Society, Clara Ysabel Alumaga (Resistome).

Moving forward to the second day, August 8, 2025, GeneSoc was assigned to the hallway of IBS at Wing C to set up their booth, along with other IBS organizations. This time, resident members had the opportunity to speak on the must-knows about the College of Arts and Sciences, conducted by the current Public Relations Officer (PRO) of GeneSoc, Yuan Miguel Jose (Harbinger). Towards the end of the program, student leaders had the chance to promote their respective organizations, with the current Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of GeneSoc, Paul Jefferson Arnigo (Fosmid), representing the organization.

GeneSoc would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to all the freshmen who participated in the games and activities, as well as to the resident members who prepared these activities. This welcoming event provided an outlet for the organization to introduce the science of genetics, along with the organization's mission and vision, to the new Iskolar ng Bayan. The recently concluded CASalubong event proves that spreading awareness in genetics is not only achieved through academics, but it is also observed even in the simplest activities and interactions that spark curiosity among the people.
