Medical Mission 2025: Mula Sa Amin, Para sa Gene-yo

by: Jan Pauline Roxas (Resistome)

One of the ways GeneSoc extends its service to the community is through its outreach activities. In the past, GeneSoc conducted medical missions wherein free general check-ups, circumcision procedures, and dental check-ups were offered. In partnership with the Volunteer Youth Leaders for Health (VYLH) - Philippines, the importance of folic acid was also highlighted to the participants of the medical mission.

This year, GeneSoc plans to return to its medical mission activities that were halted during the height of the pandemic. With the theme “Mula sa Amin, Para sa Gene-yo,” the medical mission event will take place on June 13, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN, at Brgy. Sampiruhan Multipurpose Court, Calamba City, Laguna.

This program will be in full partnership with the City Health Office of Calamba and PhilHealth Konsulta. Free medical services such as general check-ups, chest X-rays, dental check-ups, electrocardiograms (ECG), complete blood counts (CBC), mental health check-ups, cataract screening, and blood sugar tests are to be offered to residents of Calamba, Laguna. Aside from medical services, medicines are also to be given for free. This event will be open to all residents who are near the vicinity and is also open to the public of all ages.

Also, in connection with the organization’s outreach advocacies and VYLH Philippines, discussions about the importance of folic acid awareness and newborn screening will be highlighted.
