Batch Pseudouridine: Redefining Paradigms with GeneSoc

            Pseudouridine, denoted by Ψ (Psi), is an isomer of uracil derived via base-specific isomerization through pseudouridylation. During this process, the uracil base rotates 180° around the N3-C6 axis, resulting in the change of nucleobase-sugar attachment from nitrogen-carbon glycosidic bond to carbon-carbon bond. While the changes seem subtle, Ψ can have significant contribution in modifying the structure of RNA by improving base-pairing, base stacking and stability.

Just like how pseudouridine fine-tunes and stabilizes our DNA in the most subtle ways, five students from distinct backgrounds redefine their impact on GeneSoc as they strengthen the organization with their ceaseless dedication. Eni from BS Agricultural Biotechnology, Mizh from MS Plant Genetics, Matti from BS Biology, Manuel from BS Agriculture, and Enzo from BS Math and Science Teaching are the newest addition to the ever-growing GeneSoc family.

Eni Buno

As a girl who loves nature that surrounds her, Eni is always ready to take snapshots of the sky and anything beyond the cotton clouds. Eni sees the silver lining in even the gloomiest situations, which makes her the perfect person to lead and encourage her fellow batchmates.

Mizh Javier

The ever-efficient and organized big sister of the group, Mizh is the one who we can always depend on. Her spot-on insights and opinions on different situations surely enlighten new perspectives in life that leave an indelible mark.

Matti Padilla

Despite being the youngest in the batch, Matti proves to be highly trustworthy and dedicated to every task he is working on. His quick thinking and earnestness are his greatest strengths, which surely aid him in adapting to any situation.

Enzo Requizo

One cannot have a dull conversation with Enzo as he always shares fun little anecdotes to the table. Oozing with confidence and boundless energy, Enzo is always up for any challenge especially when he is in his element working on arts and other passions. 

Manuel Ricarte

Wherever and whenever, Manuel surely knows how to bring energy and laughter. As adventurous and active as he is, one cannot help but see him as an enthusiastic go-getter, but he also nurtures a thoughtful and caring side, especially towards those dearest to him.
