by Ivien Prinze Fetalino | Reprimo
The Reprimo (RPRM) gene family is a group of single-exon genes that is unique to vertebrates. From the last common ancestor of vertebrates, Reprimo genes diverged and diversified after two rounds of whole genome duplications between 676 and 615 million years ago. In humans, Reprimo is a potential tumor-suppressor gene that regulates the Cdc2-cyclin B1 complex activity and the p53-mediated cell cycle arrest at G2. In the advent of modern science and technology, the Reprimo gene family becomes a hotspot of genetic discoveries.
Seven enthusiastic individuals come together to join the GeneSoc family that keeps getting bigger and brighter! Batch Reprimo is composed of five BS Biology students - Janet, Mark, Ivien, Cisco, and Len; one BS Agriculture student - Geromn; and one BS Mathematics and Science Teaching student - Channy. Their unbreakable bond stems from the unique and charming personalities of each member harmonizing well with one another.
