Genes achieve excellence in March 2022 PLE

Fueled to serve the nation through medicine, two genes have achieved excellence in the March 2022 Physician Licensure Examinations (PLE).


With the results released last March 18, Dr. Irene Joan Madriano (Transcriptome) and Dr. Mary Catalyn Malipol (Emergenesis) joined the new roster of doctors who passed the country’s medical board exam.


Out of 2837 examinees, 1427 new doctors aced the PLE, giving out a national passing rate of 50.30%.


Linnaeus Cruz of the University of the Philippines Manila (UPM) emerged as the topnotcher, garnering an exam grade of 90.25%. 


UPM was also the top performing school in this PLE, with a 91.23% passing rate.


March 2022 PLE was conducted during the second and third weeks of March, in 13 local testing centers nationwide.
